Vita Plus Launches ‘Values: The foundation of farming’ Project (December 2012)

(Madison, Wis.) – As consumer interest in food production grows, our efforts to communicate our values must also grow.

To meet this demand, Vita Plus is proud to launch “Values: The foundation of farming” to help farmers and industry partners lead discussions about modern food production.  A customized Resource Kit includes videos highlighting values that guide farmers’ actions every day as well as supporting educational materials for a variety of audiences.

The five-minute educational videos were filmed on four diverse Midwest dairy farms and focus on the topics of commitment to wholesome food, responsibility to care for animals, stewardship of natural resources, and love of family.  A bonus video, titled “On the Manure Trail,” follows nutrient management from the barns to a methane digester to the fields.  Each video is matched with educational materials for upper elementary, secondary and adult audiences.  In addition, tips for working with the different age groups provide strategies to connect with these audiences.
